Our story
The method
came before
the software
Sybil grew out of the work of managing real insurance portfolios.
In 2021, members of the founding team left Legal & General to establish Calibrant. The practical challenge was not simply producing actuarial analysis. It was delivering that insight repeatedly and turning it into decisions.
Sybil was developed to support that process. In 2022, Sybil Tech became a separate business focused on the software. Calibrant remains a sister company, with actuarial support available where clients need it.
That origin still shapes our approach: the platform must help people understand the business, act on what they learn and see whether their judgement holds up as experience emerges.
